Does anyone out there do paid online surveys? There are so many bogus companies that want you to pay. Help!?
Posted by admin
I am a fulltime college student and I am about to start graduate school. I am interested in working from home by doing paid online surveys. Even secret shopping is fine. There are so many bogus comapnies out there. Does anyone have experience at this and can tell me how to go about this?
The rule, as always, is to stay away from those that ask you to pay before you can get these surveys.
Legitimate market survey companies such as Pinecone Research recruit members based on demographic characteristics — e.g. mothers of babies 0-12 years old — and will send surveys of products and services targeting this demographic group. Pinecone Research, however, pays only $5 per survey — you're definitely not going to be rich with that. They can give you anywhere from 1-5 at most surveys in a month.
Other companies simply ask you to answer as many research as possible, and you don't earn anything just the chance to win at a raffle (which I find lame).
The article "Earning Money from Surveys" provide a short list of legitimate market research firms and contains explanations of what to look for when joining surveys (and weeding out the fraudulent ones)

The best resource to check out is the National Mystery Shopping Providers Association (MSPA) http://www.mysteryshop.org , an organization of mystery shopping companies. Check out their listing of shopping assignments by country and by state from member companies. Some of the listings may be outdated, but the companies listed in their database are usually the biggest companies in the industry and most importantly, legitimate. Companies are accepted as members of the association only if they have been in existence for two years and they can submit proof of business existence. Make a list of these companies and check out their requirements to be a mystery shopper.

you hardly receive anything for free from the surveys. I had this email saying they wear giving free cell phone and Gucci bags. I was the lucky winner out of the millions out there.
1. I had never participated in that kind of a survey.
2. 10 of my colleagues had got the exact same email.
If possible dont let greed get you. the offers look tempting but end in sheer disappointment.

Check out http://emoney.ztweb.biz/ They review websites before they post them up, and they have a whole directory of them, so you know exactly what you're getting into before you sign up.
For future reference, usually any site that asks you to pay up front is a scam.
