I have been receiving some of these ads but I would want to be sure of what am getting into.
First of all you need to appreciate that the vast majority of research companies are only interested in US, Canadian, UK and Australian residents, with a few specialist European companies. Elsewhere in the world, and particularly in countries where Paypal is not available, the opportunities are greatly restricted.
You should also be aware that no legitimate market research company will ever ask you for any money, or credit card details, even when they send you products to test. Any site that asks otherwise is either charging you for information freely available elsewhere or are scamming you into thinking you are carrying out market research but are actually just selling something.
If you visit one of the good free online survey directories like http://www.whichsurveys.com you'll find details of hundreds of genuine market research companies, listed by country, with a paragraph or two about each company so that you can see what payment is on offer and whether the research undertaken is likely to be relevant to you personally. Check the companies listed in the international section to see which are available in Nigeria.
The best directories will also have a collection of articles explaining how the process works and tips on how to make the most of such an opportunity.

At best you'll just get some extra bucks at the end of the month.
Some of the advertisements claim you can take surveys for a living, which is a lie since many people would soon catch on.
I once tried to get into one of those sites. They usually don't let you withdraw money until you reach a certain amount and by then most users get tired. They are also the ones who decide how many and which surveys you are to take.
I suspect a few are just scams.
Online surveys usually demand you live in a certain area which is of interest for the company who goes out to pay people to take it. Why find statistics on someone who isn't going to buy your product? Living in the Dominican Republic this is what I suspect didn't allow mo to have a more scrupulous experience.
If you actually make money instead of getting tired you'd have gone further than me.

You wont really be getting into anything bad unless you start handing out untrustworth companies your credit card details. If you stick with the trusted paid surveys you will be fine.
